My dreams do matter
Aimee’s Song
Have you ever wanted to jump ship and start a new business?
Or gone through a difficult breakup or divorce?
What about being blindsided with the loss of a parent?
Maybe you even found yourself sabotaging new-found success?
For Aimee Cruz this unfolded in a very short period of time.
It’s also where her story of redemption begins.
You see Aimee left consulting to go all-in on her first business, Moms on Maternity.
Aimee could have come up with the excuses we typically make – young kids, mortgage, marriage, finances – but she realized that if she was ever going to chase her dream, it was time.
In her gut she believed there was nothing to worry about. If things didn't work out, so be it. There were plenty of jobs to be had.
After taking the leap she had some success, but something wasn’t right. She wasn’t living the dream she had imagined. And then one fateful night she realized she was sabotaging her success.

During our conversation Aimee shares her rock bottom moment when it became clear that she would lose everything if she didn't change everything. She realized that she would be telling the world her dream really didn't really matter. And that scared the shit out of her.
Through the compassion of friends – old and new – Aimee made it through that night and is now singing her song as the CEO of three companies.
Check out my conversation with Aimee. She gets into what gave her the confidence to take the risk and leave the comfort of a steady paycheck, how she overcame the challenges that litter the path of being an entrepreneur, and advice for those who think night and day about following their dream, but can’t summon the courage.
Let me leave you with a comment that spoke to me deeply. It’s powerful in its simplicity and getting at what matters most...
If you can answer at the end of every day that you made yourself proud, you will be at peace and everything will work out.
That’s something I plan to think about at the end of each and every day.
